Although more than 1 out of 7 Asian Americans reported having a diagnosable mental health disorder, they are less likely than other ethnic minority groups to seek professional mental health services. Our behavioral health research project works with Asian community-based organizations in Chicagoland to reduce mental health stigma, increase mental health literacy, improve linkage to professional mental health services, and enhance mental health provider’s cultural competency in providing care to people of Asian descent.
